Hollywood Beach (RPCX800129) is a 1956 Pullman Standard Company built 5 Double Bedroom Lounge built for the Seaboard Air Line for service on its flagship train, “The Silver Meteor”. It is the sole survivor of three identical cars for which this car was briefly re-named “Sun Ray” in 1967 after the merger of the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad to form Seaboard Coast Line.
Amtrak inherited the car and its last regular service was in 1981. After a series various owners it was acquired by Keith R. White in 2016 and was lovingly restored to ambience and charm it never held before. Gateway Rail Services of Madison, IL, installed all new glass, new plumbing, new electrical wiring and a new generator.
It has a full kitchen in the middle of the car and is equipped with electrical out-lets throughout. It features a Bose Sound System, a 39 inch television, DVD player and is WiFi equipped as well! The car sleeps 10 and features a beautiful shower and general water closet as well as toilet facilities in four of the rooms for which can be configured into suites sleeping four, if desired!
"Hollywood Beach" is available for charter for families, business trips, and meetings of all kinds whilst traveling.
